It is essential when staying in a reasonably high-density development such as Goose Valley that all residents abide by certain rules so that everyone lives harmoniously and with as little tension as possible. Please, therefore, take a little time to read the following Rules.

Abbreviated Conduct Rules

These rules have been designed in the interest of promoting harmonious community living through the general consideration of all residents towards each other & to preserve & enhance security, aesthetics & the environment. Homeowners on the Goose Valley Golf Estate are responsible for ensuring that their families, friends, visitors, tenants, and employees abide by these rules.

Golf Course Rules

(Check the current dress code & course rules at the Pro Shop)

The golf course is privately operated. The following is prohibited:

  • Use of any item other than players' golf cars on cart paths
  • Playing any sport or game on the course
  • Practicing on the golf course. (Equipment will be confiscated)
  • Exercising on the golf course
  • Children playing in bunkers
  • Entering any Fynbos areas. Stay out of the rough!
  • Collecting golf balls (Beware of snakes!)

Environmental Rules

  • Fauna & Flora may not be removed or trimmed
  • All Fynbos areas are strictly out of bounds. Natural grassed areas are classified as Fynbos
  • Do not feed birds & other wildlife
  • Black plastic refuse bags must be used in dustbins
  • No noise between 23h00 and 08h00

General Rules

Washing & towels must be hung on a clothes horse or approved fold-away lines and be on patios. No items may be hung on the balustrades. Washing appearance to be always neat. Fire hoses may not be used for purposes other than fires. Gardens are out of bounds. Golf chipping on the grassed areas around Units is not allowed.

Swimming pool

Children under 12 using the swimming pool must be supervised by an adult. No glass containers are allowed in the swimming pool area. Use of the pool is at your own risk.

Parking

Vehicles are to be parked in the apartment’s demarcated parking bay or in visitor parking bays marked with a “V”. Extra vehicles are to be parked at the tennis courts. Boats, trailers & caravans to be parked in areas demarcated by management & NOT outside apartments or houses. Please inquire at the Goose Valley Reception Office if in doubt. Incorrectly parked vehicles will be clamped or towed away.

Use of Vehicles

The Estate’s roads are classified as Public Roads, Motorized vehicles, scooters, scramblers, quadbikes, golf carts, etc. may only be driven within the Estate and on its roads by persons with a valid driver’s licence and may be used as a mode of normal transport only. The Estate’s internal roads are not to be used for motorised pleasure purposes. Speed Limit 30 km per hour. Drive cautiously & responsibly – Be aware of children, tortoises, and small buck when driving on the Estate roads.

Tennis and Squash Courts

Use of the courts is restricted to tennis & squash players. No other games are to be played on the courts. Tennis /Squash or soft rubber WHITE soled shoes must be worn. The maximum period of play is 45 minutes. Children under 14 using the squash court must be supervised by an adult

Pets

If you are staying in the apartments at Goose Valley you may not have pets of any kind.

Turtle Creek, Fairway Close, and Lynnwood freehold housing developments allow pets, but please ensure you obtain prior permission from the Letting Agent/Owner to have your pets with you. Some owners do not want pets on their premises. Very few of the homes have suitable fencing to contain dogs. The Golf Course and the surrounding rough is strictly out of bounds to non-playing golfers and pets. Dogs may only be walked on a leash on pavements and in the street and owners must have poop bags to pick up any mess. Pets must stay within the boundary of the home, and you are requested not to leave them alone for extended periods. Being in a strange environment, dogs tend to become stressed and can bark incessantly when left alone.

Security Rules

Access Tags are available from the Goose Valley Homeowners Reception Office upon payment of a deposit. Access Tags may not be swapped or loaned to other persons. Report any Access Tag problems to the Reception Office. Report any security concerns to a member of the security staff. The electrical fence is dangerous and is not to be touched. Use of Fireworks and discharging any firearm will result in criminal charges. Your Access Tag opens the Lagoon boardwalk gate and/or it will be controlled via the Security office who has camera surveillance of the gate. Ensure it is always closed behind you. If you are expecting any visitors, please advise the Security Gate personnel in advance to ensure access.
