Warning: All deposits and other payments for holiday accommodation must be administered through a trust account set up in terms of S32 (1) of the Estate Agents Affairs Act 112 of 1976. Unregistered rental agents are letting apartments at Goose valley. Operating a Leasing /Rental / Accommodation business in South Africa is subject to compliance with the Estate Agency Affairs Act. All such businesses and their employees must be Registered Estate Agents with the Estate Agency Affairs Board. The business and the agents must also be in possession of valid Fidelity Fund Certificates and the business must have a Trust Account with an approved banking institution. Operating without these requirements is a criminal offence. Insist on your Agent providing proof of their status. Do not deposit funds with an unregistered Agent. Unregistered agents are by law not entitled to be paid a commission for their services, nor may they take deposits as they do not qualify to open a Trust Account with a financial institution.
